Join Andrea and Daniel and the Danceworks Youth Performance Company on August 13 as they plant and perform to help build a beautiful garden and a stronger community in Milwaukee neighborhood. As always, Real Time is pay what you will, but please be generous, as all proceeds go directly to the garden effort. In lieu of money, you can also bring perennials, mulch, stones, rain barrels, or anything else to build and maintain this peace garden. The garden work and block party starts at 12pm, with the performance ending the day at 5pm. We encourage to come help out, let the kids play in the bounce house, enjoy some barbecue and meet some fellow Milwaukeeans.
On May 5, 2016, Za'Layia Boone was shot while inside her family's home. On May 16, one day before her 10th birthday, she took her last breath. Now, her mother and aunt have taken their enormous grief and are building a garden to grow to honor Za'Layia and other children who can no longer grow with us.
